The best fondue in Serra Gaúcha: Colosseo Restaurant
Serra Gaúcha is a place apart from Brazil, it doesn't even seem like we're in the same country, from the architecture, customs to the temperature, that very cold fall and winter climate gives the city an extra touch, perfect for enjoying the delicacies that the best restaurants offer.
So we took advantage of the near-zero thermometer and looked for the most renowned fondue place, Colosseo.

On arrival we could already see some differences, such as the differentiated service, we were greeted by one of the owner's sons and the soundtrack that would make many a restaurant envious, more romantic and cozy impossible, a beautiful piano right in the restaurant also being played by one of his sons, who gave a show apart, beautiful music !!!

We also had the chance to talk to Cardoso, the restaurant's owner, who spoke with pride and affection about Colosseo's awards and stories, including one from the magazine Sabores da Serra, which voted them the best fondue in Gramado for four consecutive years.

The Colosseo Restaurant has been operating since 1997 in the same location, with decor inspired by the figures in the Colosseum in Rome. The name of the restaurant also came from there, from the Latin expression Colosseum, due to the colossal statue of the Roman emperor Nero, which was very close to the Colosseum. The Greek god of wine, Bacchus, is also present in the decoration of the Colosseum, and there's nothing better to honor him than to enjoy a nice bottle of wine with some fondue, lol.
After getting to know the house, it was time to taste the delicacies. We chose a table and asked for a car seat for the baby. One interesting thing is that as well as the car seat, they also have a kit to entertain the little ones, with sheets of paper with drawings for the little ones to paint, a brief respite for the parents to enjoy!

We ordered a starter of cold cuts, bread and pastries!

For the kids, there's also a kids' menu, with lots of fun dishes, such as SpongeBob? Lol it's fillet bait with rice and fries, or the Woodpecker, chicken bait with spaghetti in butter and cheese, this one even made me want it, buts, oops, I was looking forward to the fondue, so we decided on the stone sequence, as usual we started with the cheese, MY GODSS! Very traditional messmooo, and there's cheese in the story, delicious with a choice of potatoes, guava or bread to go with it, and that cheese melts and gets really sticky, dense and wonderful!
But the one I was most looking forward to was the meat fondue, fondue on stone? What would that be like? Soon the sauces started arriving, there were more than 10 options, one more delicious than the other, and the meats weren't far behind either, there was chicken, filet mignon, entrecôte and picanha!

I loved the fondue, it's no wonder they won several awards, the garlic sauce with mayonnaise, the house sauce and the pepper jelly sauce were our favorites!
But there was still dessert, how could I stand it? It was so delicious that I didn't even know where to start. The chocolate was perfect too, a mixture of 70% milk and 30% semi-sweet, not too sweet and exactly as it should be.

I know I left fed for the next three days, lol, and even then I still wanted to eat more, but when the food is good, it's easy to be satisfied.
But if you're not in the mood for fondue or you're not a fan, the restaurant has a vast menu with options for every palate, with fish and seafood, poultry, exotic meats, have you ever thought of eating wild boar or lamb? Fillets or other fondue options are also on the menu, whether you're a fan of traditional fat fondue or want to try Swiss, chinoise, borguignonne, shrimp or fish fondue, they're all on the menu.
To accompany meals, port wine is very welcome and goes very well with the weather!
Well, I may not be a renowned food critic, but the restaurant won my vote A LOT, lol I loved it and I thought it was very fair to have so many awards!

The house is very complete and if you still want a dessert, you can find tiramisu, petit gateau among others, congratulations to the owners and for the care they treat their customers! Thank you so much for having us
I'm already dying to go back in the summer and try other dishes, aren't you?!
