Is traveling with a baby easy or difficult?
Before I had a baby I thought it was crazy to travel with a baby, I confess I was even afraid of getting pregnant before it happened, as I've already told you here. But after I got pregnant I saw that Pregnant women travel too and that traveling with your baby is not a 7-headed monster, on the contrary, it's VERY ENJOYABLE.
My first fear after having a child and hitting the road was:
What would it be like to travel with a baby? And the plane? What a nice surprise! It was great, as I'll tell you hereWe've been on a few trips and he's behaved like a real little man!
I was terrified that he'd be one of those kids who doesn't adapt to flying, but thank God he really enjoyed it and even misses it when we don't travel for a long time. Now I'm going to summarize some aspects of the 3 phases I've been through, I know they'll help first-time moms like me, lol.
Very small and only suckles at the breast.
I can tell you that the smaller it is, the easier it is to travel with our little one!
On our first adventure, he was about three months old and only breastfed, which made EVERYTHING much easier, even on the plane, without a thousand bottles, powdered milk, water or anything to be sterilized, just a tissue, me, him and that was it, the hunger went away. It was just a matter of having a private corner, sanitizing the breasts, and everything calmed down.
On this first trip we went to Bahia and between beaches, museums or any other attraction there was their meal, not to mention that at this time of year they sleep a lot and go anywhere without complaining!
I still have a very good point in my favor, my baby doesn't complain at all, nothing with loud music, so I can even go to bars at night, I just need a darker corner and he'll fall asleep right there.
For them to sleep, hotels usually offer cribs in the rooms and you just need to let them know when you book.
However, I bought a baby carriage with a 3-in-1 kit that comes with a bassinet that doubles as a cradle, a great way of not depending on third parties.
This has made my life so much easier and doesn't leave me with any extra worries when it comes to traveling with a baby.
He's bigger and breast and bottle feeding.
On the second and third trips he enjoyed both breast and bottle feeding, which made the journey a little more complicated.
Since we have to check the amount of powdered milk, water and ask to sterilize the bottle, wherever we are.
On airplanes you can also ask the flight attendants for help, depending on the stage of the flight of course. On short flights, it's not a good idea to ask, because everything is so rushed.
Luckily, every hotel or even restaurant I've been to has sterilized it with great pleasure, but I don't like to depend on it at all, which makes the bottle just a slightly negative point, but nothing that really interferes to the point of not going on the trip.
He kept sleeping a lot and every time we got into a car he would black out, his personality already starting to emerge.
Since she was five months old, restaurants and bars weren't so easy. It was necessary to take her out of the stroller and walk around a bit.
For him to be calmer, a short walk was enough and he was happy and everything went back to normal.
The pace of travel also begins to slow down, as going out in the morning, afternoon and evening is very tiring for the baby. Even though he sleeps a lot of the time.
He's quite big now and has started on his porridge.
When your baby starts eating baby food, things change.
The rhythm of the trip begins to be planned into before the feed and after the feed.
After all, we need to be in the hotel or in a reliable restaurant to warm up the food!
We've also stayed in rooms that had a fridge, stove and microwave, which is ideal for this stage, but it's not always possible to get rooms like this, so good planning is ideal.
Of course, there's no getting away from ready-made food in these cases, but once in a while it's fine.
What's more, the pot already serves as a plate and you don't have to carry around a lot of junk.
But nothing to spoil the trip, just a little more dependent on planning.
His personality starts to become much stronger, he starts to show an opinion about what he likes or doesn't like.
Attention is also beginning to be more demanded, and a simple game or walk to calm them down is no longer enough.
So don't forget to take along your favorite toys. This is a great ally for a peaceful outing and a valuable tip for traveling with a baby.
Each stage is more enjoyable and different from the next. We always look forward to watching our little ones grow and develop.
But take your time to enjoy every moment of traveling with a baby, as they grow up VERY quickly.
I hope I've helped you, leave me your questions or comments, let's share experiences!!! 😉
