Obaaa, finally the beaches
Our trip has continued, we're going to visit the famous beaches and we've chosen an all-inclusive house for accommodation with children in Krabi.
Krabi is a province in Thailand.
Thailand has 76 provinces, and they are so big that they need to be divided up.
Krabi, for example, has 8 districts, divided into 53 communes which in turn have a total of 374 villages! The Krabi region is huge, so which village would we choose? We only knew one thing for sure, we wanted to visit Phi Phi, Railey and Ko Poda and from our research we thought that the district of Mueang Krabi, more precisely the little town of Ao Nang, was the best.
Not to mention the fact that we were with children and wanted more comfort.
Ao Nang is 1 hour from Krabi airport and it's very easy to get there. You can hire a transfer at the airport, we paid 300 baht for the couple, I thought it was cheap.
Haggle as much as you can
But remember, we went in low season and got a lot of discounts, but bargaining also helps.
Best of all, you don't need a boat to get to Ao Nang, and there are plenty of markets, stores, restaurants and tours.
As we went during the dreaded monsoon season, we were afraid of staying on one of the islands and literally being marooned.
Now imagine if we spent the whole four days in heavy rain due to the monsoons? It wouldn't do for the city alone to have a good structure, the accommodation with a child in Krabi would also have to be different and so we were very careful in our choice.
That's why we chose a house all for ourselves! With plenty of space and comfort in case we got stuck in the rain.
What do you mean a whole house? Did you rent it? No, we chose a house hotel!
Yes, that's right! The convenience of home and the comfort of a hotel combined.
Alisea Pool Villas
I was very happy to discover this type of accommodation in Thailand. home hotels here in Brazil and I loved the experience.
The name of the hotel is Alisea Pool Villas and you'll find exactly what you need when it comes to accommodation with children in Krabi.
It's only 4 km from the center of Ao Nang, immersed in nature and far from any hustle and bustle, so you can sleep soundly. What's more, the hotel offers transfers to and from the city.
We arrived to a very warm welcome, with the receptionist asking if we wanted to book lunch at one of their partner beach clubs.
We chose the time and while the hour didn't arrive we went to pack our things in our new house.
WOW!
The hotel has a total of 11 houses, all of the same standard, more like a condominium, I felt like a local for a few days, a delight, completely at home.
Oh, and it's not just houses, it's THE HOUSE!
With three bedrooms, a living room, full kitchen, 2 bathrooms, balcony, mini bar, lounge area, and a pool just for us!!!
Uhuuulll, Emmanuel was able to scream, jump and play a lot without disturbing anyone and we were able to make ourselves at home.
Everything is beautiful, extremely tasteful and cozy.
Suite
We slept in the suite, with a gigantic King size bed, TV, closet and even a beach bag to use during our stay!
The suite has plenty of space! One of the largest suites I've ever stayed in, with a window and a door leading to the pool.
The en-suite bathroom couldn't be any different, with a shower and a sink, perfect for those who enjoy putting on make-up and like space.
As if that wasn't enough, there was also a huge bathtub, where Emmanuel enjoyed his baths.
We really enjoyed our little house and would love to come back with family or friends, as there are two more bedrooms in addition to the suite.
Two more bedrooms!
One with a double bed and the other with two single beds, ideal for those with more than one child.
It also has a second bathroom, without disturbing those in the suite.
The house can accommodate up to 6 people!
Well, the whole of Thailand surprised me in every way, we were very happy on this trip.
Time for lunch!
All sorted, let's have lunch! Ueba, typical Thai food, with a 5-course sequence, that's a great way to start, we're off to the beaches on the right foot.
As the Andamana Beach Club is a partner of Alisea Pool Villas, transportation is free, and the tuk tuk was there waiting for us at the time we booked.
All the comfort we needed when staying with children in Krabi, I loved it.
And when we arrived, the dishes were already being placed on the table, everything in sync! Even the shy sun came out to welcome us.
We tried every bit of Andamana Beach Club's delicious dishes and they were really delicious, the only thing I didn't like was a very spicy soup they served.
I'm not a fan of spicy food, but even Igor, who loves chili peppers, didn't like it! When they play with pepper, they go off the deep end.
So watch out for the soups, lol.
I thought it was nice that in addition to the typical foods, they served fried chicken and rice, foods that our little one loves! His poop and rice are always present in his meals here at home.
Perfect place to relax with the family
The Beach Club is a pleasant place to spend the day and enjoy a quiet beach.
Mainly because the hotel offers transfers both to and from the hotel, in other words, all the convenience a family needs when staying with children in Krabi!
It is possible to go kayaking or even horseback riding, but as we were arriving from Bangkok, we just wanted to relax and enjoy the incredible energy of the place.
The tide changes completely over time and as the hours passed, a huge surprise appeared before our eyes: the sea gave way to an incredible golden color!
It's not the beach you imagine when you hear about Thailand, but the calm, the hammocks, the trees and everything together give you an unparalleled feeling.
Thank you so much Thailand for giving us such unique and wonderful moments!
Our little one slept through lunch and didn't even enjoy the children's areas, we spent a bit longer in the hammocks and swings and then the Tuk Tuk arrived to take us back to the hotel.
We enjoyed our stay with children in Krabi even more
On the way back, we hit a huge thunderstorm, which meant that we spent the rest of the day in our little house.
The rain was really heavy and we were quite afraid that there would be no respite and that we would have to stay in the house for the next few days, so we went to reception in search of plans a, b and c.
Luckily, we found plenty of options for excursions at reception, and the girl herself contracted with the companies responsible, so we didn't even have to leave the property to sort out our next day.
We chose a tour without a boat, but only for the morning, hoping that the rain forecast for the next three days was wrong.
Kitchen
We went back to our house and watched a bit of TV with the little one. As he hadn't had lunch with us, I used the kitchen to make something.
And of course a coffee for me, I love coffee and I loved having a kettle in the house! Ahh, every day they put in about 6 bottles of water too, which helped a lot.
But if you don't want to cook, no problem! Alisea Pool Villas also has room service with meals.
We went to sleep dreaming of the next day!
Breakfast
We woke up hungry and with the sound of rain in the background, I couldn't believe that the forecast had been right.
I changed and "Ding-Dong" the doorbell rang! Two very nice girls brought our breakfast and quickly put it on the table in the living room!
I loved it! We chose the type of coffee we wanted the night before! I wanted to try the Asian, Emmanuel and Igor the English.
The English one was bread, eggs, jam and everything else we're used to, while the Asian one was a huge soup with rice, prawns, garlic and spring onions! I want that every day now, can you? I've only had coffee like this, I loved it, I thought it was super cozy to have coffee at home, in our own time.
Wonderful mornings
Such silly details that make all the difference, right? There's nothing better than getting out of bed and opening the door to a table full of goodies! If I could, I'd only stay in house hotels, lol too bad there are so few of them.
We finished eating, got ready and went to reception, there were only a few minutes left before the tour van arrived!
In fact, the weather was opening up! And it had stopped raining, so throughout the day we even managed to try a beach.
We went to Railey, just 15 minutes by boat from Ao Nang! Railey is not exactly an island, but it can only be reached by boat and I can only tell you one thing.
DON'T MISS THIS BEACH! IT'S THE MOST BEAUTIFUL
Over the next few days, the weather cleared up every morning and it only rained in the late afternoon.
I thanked St. Peter so much, the rain didn't hinder our outings at all!
We continued our happy days visiting the islands and becoming more and more enchanted by Thailand, but I confess that staying at the house was also a delight!
There were days when I didn't even want to visit the village after the tours, staying in our pool and on our balcony was the best thing I could do.
Thai massage
But the surprises weren't over yet, on the last night before we left I decided to
try the famous Thai massage.
I booked it at the hotel reception, but the massage took place at the Ao Nang Cliff Beach Resort, a partner hotel near the center of town.
They picked us up and while I was getting a delicious massage, Emmanuel and Igor were playing.
What mom wouldn't enjoy a relaxing massage while staying with a child in Krabi? Take advantage of the fact that massages are great and cheap!
I left lighter than a feather and all relaxed, I should have done that as soon as I arrived! The girl managed to unlock me, I was ready for another 35 hours of flying lol.
Last dinner in town
Right after the massage, we ate at the restaurant in the same hotel. They call it "all can you eat" and it costs 499 baht.
However, neither Igor nor I enjoyed it, it had a good variety, but we found it very bland! The Andamana Beach Club is a thousand times better and the other restaurant we ate at in Ao Nang was also better.
At Cliff's restaurant, there was grilled seafood, Japanese food, typical food and salads, but I found the squid and prawns tasteless, the Japanese food was only vegetarian and the hot food was far from hot.
However, it seems that the tasteless shrimp is part of their culture, as all the ones I ate there were unseasoned
We've felt this in every restaurant we've been to, even in other cities: the prawns are huge, but completely unsalted.
We left there and there was already a Tuk Tuk to pick us up back at the hotel, it was raining A LOT and the next day was our farewell to the city
.
I didn't want to leave!
We were already missing it, but I couldn't leave Ao Nang without visiting Ko Poda! I was dying to see this place and hoping it would be sunny again.
It was the sunniest day ever! So we asked for our transfer in the late afternoon and as always they were very helpful.
We got it right when staying with children in Krabi, everything we asked for was answered with a smile on our face.
We managed to do our tour, get back, get ready and head to the next stop! Ko Lanta, here we come.
It was hard to say goodbye to that little paradise we call home for four days.
A delight, without a doubt I recommend it as a wonderful place to stay with children in Krabi.
Especially if you're looking for exclusivity and tranquillity.
