Curitiba x Morretes - Second day.

Will we be able to take the train ride?

What, is it time already? It's so dark, I'd better watch the clock anyway... after all, I don't want to miss the train ride from Curitiba to Morretes...

IGOOOOORRR!!! LEVANNNTAAAAAA

It's 7:26, the tour leaves at 8:15!!! We have to get the tickets from Serra Verde Express, run!!!

Throw water on your face here, throw water on your face there, open your suitcase, grab your clothes, change Emmanuel and let's run!

Breakfast is for later, let's go with faith, let me just get some cheese rolls so our little one doesn't leave with an empty belly and humm, what a delight this coffee is!

Crisina, there's no time! Vamboraaaa

Running for the train!

Igor already asked for our Peugeot 408 at reception, we got in, I finished getting ready in the car and we activated the turbo function!!!
Would there be time?

Soon we were at the bus station, where we stopped the car, or rather where I jumped out to get the Curitiba x Morretes train tickets, while Igor stopped the car and ran up to us.

It was the longest 200 meters of my life, I crossed the bus station on top until I reached Serra Verde Express, it felt like someone was guiding me, I just asked the direction and followed ... turn there, turn here ... and oops I found it!

Uffa 3 minutes for the train to leave, as Igor said, all coldly calculated... But where is he?
While I was going through the turnstile, he came running, with only 1 minute to go.

We made it Curitiba x Morretes, here we come!

We ran in, sat down and uffaa...
We looked at each other and knew exactly what the other was thinking.

"It worked, I'm glad we didn't give up."

The warmth was taking over our chests, with the delicious feeling of relief along with it, how happy we were! The Curitiba x Morretes train ride was what I most wanted to do in the city, known as the most beautiful train ride in Brazil!!!

Think if you weren't anxious.

Now it was time to listen to the guide and enjoy!

Snack kit

Obbbaaaa, snack!
We went in tourist class, costing R$119.00 for adults and R$82.00 for children, with children up to 5 years old only paying a fee of 6 reais.
For those who buy tourist, executive or cabin class, on-board service is included, with a snack kit, water, soft drinks or mate.

It couldn't be better!!! Our breakfast.
A super cute little box that looked like a train, with cakes, sweet and savory cookies.
To drink, Emmanuel and I chose mate, Igor went for a soft drink and now that we were calmer, we were able to enjoy the ride a lot.

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT TIP!!!
Small children only board with documentation, don't forget!

Luckily, I always carry Emmanuel's ID in my wallet.

Little surprises

Well, back to the tour, the guide was telling us about every surprise that came up along the way, so we were able to enjoy the landscapes between Curitiba and Morretes much more!
Needless to say, Emmanuel was very attentive and animated during the three-hour ride. He fought with sleep, but didn't bat an eye. All he wanted to do was enjoy the train and the scenery.
Eiii wait, now there's another surprise, look to the left and tcharãm.

How beautiful!

Tip: the most beautiful views on the route from Curitiba to Morretes are on the left, but there are also some surprises on the right.

The road is extremely beautiful, even in cloudy weather and with a lot of sawdust we were able to enjoy it! Now imagine if it was sunny?
I want to go back in the sunshine and take the luxury train ride, but as we went during the week, it wasn't possible, as it only leaves on weekends and public holidays.

Are we stopping? But we're still in the middle of the road! Aaaaaahhhh yes, sometimes that happens, the freight train comes along the same track and we wait for it to pass, which turns out to be quite exciting too! Seeing those huge wagons passing us so close and doing the famous xique xique!

The landscape at all times is absurdly beautiful and green, sometimes with a little house here and there, but these are rarities and usually yield good photos!

Between beautiful landscapes, waterfalls and bridges, the ride ended and the desire for more grew! Yes, Curitiba x Morretes is the most beautiful train ride I've taken in Brazil, but I still want to go back when it's sunny and take the luxury train, without a doubt!

Morretes

We arrived in Morretes, obaaaa, I mean opaaa...

WHAT RAIN IS THIS????

And now Igor, what are we going to do? Is this another reason to come back to the city?
You can easily spend a couple of days in Morretes and still have plenty to see, there are many options and the town is very pretty.
But unfortunately we couldn't see much of anything, so we ran to the first restaurant we saw, taking shelter from the storm!
We chose one very close to the train station, with a free buffet, costing only 17 reais, and tried the much-talked-about Barreado!
I repeated it a few times and I liked it! I took the opportunity to buy some banana cachaça lol to bring home and give as a present, I thought it was very tasty and different.
We made time after the meal and ueeebbaaa the rain stopped!

There's no doubt that if it hadn't been raining so much, we would have eaten elsewhere, to enjoy the city more and visit the more "touristy" part.
It was in this little street that I also found my souvenir, Emmanuel chose a magnet in the shape of a train, which was the fun of the trip!

Returning by bus

We chose to return by bus, which was much quicker and left earlier, so we could see something in Curitiba as well, since we were leaving for the Floripa Expedition the next day!
While the train only returns at 3 p.m., arriving at 6 p.m. in Curitiba, the bus left at 2:30 p.m. and arrived at 4 p.m. !
We didn't stay awake for more than 10 minutes, and all three went out!
We were very tired and the bus was really comfortable and took a normal route, a road without much to see.
But there's also the bus that comes along a beautiful road, which I'll take on my next visit, the Graciosa Road.

It's also cheaper! R$16.69 per person, I thought it was a great idea to go by train and come back by bus.
We had two hours to enjoy some more attractions, but unfortunately it was still raining and the Botanical Gardens will be left for another time.

I'm sure we could find something really cool to do, what do you think?
