Dusit Thani - Accommodation in Bangkok with children.

Dream hotel

Our last day in Thailand was approaching and we wanted to say goodbye in style, so we used and abused our last accommodation in Bangkok, staying at the Dusit Thani Bangkok.
We stayed in a beautiful hotel, fit for kings and queens, really!
Our friend Lily from Passionate about travel told us that when he checked into this hotel he was next to real Kings and Queens, with a huge entourage to welcome Nigeria's royalty.

It's great to know that I've stayed in a hotel that's on the level of true royalty, isn't it?
The Dusit Thani is a 5-star hotel in complete luxury!

We felt very welcomed during our stay! We arrived late after a tiring flight from Singapore, which I'll tell you more about in the next post, lol.
Even the taxi driver let out a shy and spontaneous "Uaaaalll"! We entered from the wrong side and the receptionist immediately noticed our confusion, came out and helped us, picking up our bags on the spot and with a smile on her face, we were promptly attended to and soon taken to our suite.

Dusit Room

It was very late and I was very tired, but when I saw the room my heart leapt and I felt refreshed!
It's huge, 60m²! It was more like a mini apartment than just a room, and our category was the Dusit Room.
Perfect, with a living room, dressing room, huge bathroom with a delicious bathtub and a bed that was beyond soft.
That's all we needed, unfortunately we were leaving the next day, but I wanted to stay so much longer, how do you do it?
I'm sure I'll return to this magnificent hotel, we loved it so much.
We enjoyed every bit of our stay, we hardly left the hotel, it had everything we needed!

Bathroom

Even though Singapore is just a stone's throw from Bangkok, international travel is always tiring! We had to go through immigration again and present our yellow fever vaccine at the health surveillance and all the other procedures we already know when entering the country.
After that, all I needed was a delicious bath for a great night's sleep, and that's what I did, the next day we would face more than 24 hours of flying to Brazil.

I filled the bathtub and relaxed as much as I could, a delightful water in a clean and spacious bathroom.
I loved it, the super-useful amenities with toothbrushes and all the pretty decorations.

Then the little one came to enjoy his mini pool and spend his energy in the bath, to let us have a long and good night's sleep, lol.

Bedroom

I got out of my bath and went straight to bed, wearing fluffy robes and a blanket that hugged me.
The bed seemed to fit me perfectly, I was so tired that I was afraid I wouldn't wake up early and enjoy the hotel more the next day.

The curtains were also a delight and made the room dark, what more did you want?
Just an alarm clock, lol The hotel has this service and provides an alarm clock in the room, which helped a lot.
I was afraid that my cell phone would discharge at night, so I took every possible precaution.

After setting the alarm, I turned on the TV and watched a bit with the little one. He had slept on the flight to Bangkok and was wide awake.
He chose a cartoon that I couldn't understand at all, possibly they were speaking in Thai, but we had fun with the intonations lol.

Sleep soon came and we had one of the best nights, remarkable how accustomed we were to the time zone after all those days there.

Closet

In the morning I took advantage of the two bathroom doors. Two? Yes, the bathroom has a door to both the closet and the bedroom.

I could leave the room while the boys were asleep, take my shower and get ready with all the noise in the closet without waking them up.
The closet was very large, our suitcases were very well positioned and there was still plenty of room. The safe is also in the closet.

Living room.

As if that wasn't enough, the room also had a huge living room with a TV, sofa, coffee table and desk!
Anyone who follows us knows how much I love tables in the rooms I stay in.

They are essential for organizing our blog stuff and this time we had a lot to organize.
After all, it was our last day on the road to Brazil and we had to keep everything safe so as not to lose the images.
In addition to the table, there was a well-stocked minibar and a kettle with free tea and coffee.

They also put in two bottles of water every day.
Before we left I made us a super coffee, I love it!

Breakfast.

Breakfast at Dusit Thani Bangkok is usually charged separately, but it's worth every penny.
It was the widest variety I could taste during our stay in Asia. Everything you can imagine was there and I tried a little bit of everything!
I was amazed at how much Asians eat for breakfast, from fish to noodles and beans! But of course I stuck to eggs for the little one with juice lol.

For me, the favorites were the various sweets and the SUSHIS, wow, I've discovered that I'm not mature enough for sushi for breakfast!
What a treat, everything is so fresh and delicious.
Our little one repeated it a couple of times and apparently loved breakfast too.

Especially the chocolates, lol.

The Dusit Thani Bangkok Hotel

The Dusit Thani Bangkok is beautiful! Luxury objects adorn every room. Wherever I went, I felt very welcome, whether in the lounges or the spa!
As you walk towards the pool, you'll also find a relaxing garden with a beautiful waterfall. It's a delight to spend an afternoon there, meditating and relaxing.

We spent the rest of the morning exploring the hotel and we were really delighted with everything we saw.
The spa area is simply beautiful!

Swimming pool

The pool is beautiful with its unique color, an emerald green that mesmerizes, but I thought it was small for the size of the hotel.
I thought it was nice that they divide the pool between a deeper part and a part where you can stand.

This makes life much easier for dads and those who want to swim peacefully.
I took a few strokes myself while Igor was playing with the little one, and I could see that the deep end is really deep!
I loved our time in that little part of the hotel and it was hard to get our little fish out.
He found a space that was just for him, that he could stand up in and he didn't want to leave, lol.

Right next to the lion statue, which is also a fountain and a great place to relax with hydro balls.
But the flight was almost there and I still wanted to buy some knick-knacks to bring home.

CAUTION

We changed and ran to try to buy something in the area, we had less than an hour and I was really worried.
But we went anyway, and right outside the hotel we were approached by a guy who offered us a tuk tuk at a bargain price.
I had already read about this "scam", but as time was really short, I accepted it. Okay, but what is this scam? No big deal, but it can ruin your day if you have something different in store.

A young man approaches you saying that such and such a tuk tuk will take you there at a very attractive price, sometimes urging you to change your destination or even saying that such and such a place is bad or closed. Then he takes you to a store (which in this case was exactly where I wanted to go) with lots of precious stones and souvenirs. I found the souvenirs I wanted to buy and the price was fair, as I'd done some research beforehand.

We left the store and I walked around the neighborhood to buy some pants and, in the end, it was worth it for us.
But when it came time to go back, we had a big problem: there was a lot of traffic and there was no tuk tuk to pick us up.
The uber was giving us a zillion hours to get there, but luckily we were relatively close to the hotel.
We hit our stride and rushed to check out and get to the airport.

Extra reasons to love this accommodation?

The location is great, with several points of interest such as nightlife and transportation, about a 5-minute walk away. Children up to the age of 11 sleeping in existing beds in the room are free!
The hotel offers 24-hour room service, which helped a lot with our time zone confusion when we arrived in the country, and reception is also available 24 hours a day. Children are welcome!

What we think of Dusit Thani Bangkok

The experience at the Dusit Thani Bangkok could only have been better if we had stayed longer to enjoy everything the hotel has to offer. Unfortunately we didn't have time to go to the rooftop bar, which looks like it has a beautiful view! Or even the golf area or the night market next to the hotel. No doubt these are things we'll do at a later date.
