Where to eat in Rio de Janeiro : Da Brambini

Mama mia! What a treat.

The Da Brambini restaurant is a reference in the Leme neighborhood and has been open for over 25 years!
We were invited to see this precious jewel in Rio de Janeiro last week.
A wonderful Italian with over 25 years of experience and recognized worldwide.

The Italian Consulate itself has made a point of giving it some awards to show that it is among the best Italian restaurants in the WORLD! Just think, I think it's wonderful!
It was a perfect, romantic evening, with lots of wine and delicious food.

Entry

Right from the start came the couvert, with spreads, breads, omelettes, buffalo mozzarella, everything I love! Showing that what was to come would be something to look forward to.

Second stage of the starters, lol we ordered TWO!
The menu is plentiful and everything looks so delicious, it was hard to choose just one.

Polenta with gorgonzola and funghi cheese

As soon as I read it, it was love at first sight, I love polenta, cheese and mushrooms, how could I not order this dish? When it arrived I was even happier, it was so good, but so good that I only let Igor taste a little bit, lol I devoured everything else by myself!

I was glad we ordered two starters, hehehe.
What a treat.

Burrata with rocket.

Igor's taste is a little different from mine, so he went for the Burrata, which he likes a lot and was very pleased with. It comes with cherry tomatoes and parma ham!
Burrata is a mozzarella cheese stuffed with fresh mozzarella pasta and fermented cream, think how magniiifiiicccooo!

It was very tasty, I took a few bites too, but I controlled myself to leave most of it for him, who ate it with such satisfaction that it was a pleasure.
The restaurant is really DELICIOUS!

Main course.

If the couvert and starters had already won over my taste buds, the main course would be the icing on the cake!
But a cruel doubt arose: with such a vast menu, what were we going to order?
One description is more succulent than the other, and now what? Which one to choose?
Gnocchi mari e monti (Gnocchi with shrimp tomato sauce, shitake and truffle oil)? Or Linguine All Aragosta (Linguine with lobster)?
There were so many options that we went crazy and ended up with one that we thought translated well to the house.

A succulent spaghetti with langoustines full of seafood along with a tomato sauce that was just right!
Whenever I talk about tomato sauce I think of Italy, that's where I had my best sauces lol, they were more like fresh tomatoes that melted when they met my taste buds, and at Da Brambini they were just like that!
Now I understand the reason for the Best Italian in the World awards.
Everything went so well that even though I was completely satisfied, I couldn't bring myself to put the cutlery in my mouth.
The white wine also complemented the meal wonderfully!

Dessert

Another difficult stage to decide! We were in doubt between the Zambaglione, fresh cream with egg yolks, sugar and marsala wine, and the traditional Petit Gateau di cioccolato with gelato alla crema!
Since I know Igor loves ice cream, that was the tiebreaker and we chose the Petit Gateau.

I don't know where I got my strength from, but I devoured every bite of the dessert, lol
I really liked the syrup and the ice cream, but I confess that I was left wanting more, thinking about the other Zambaglione dessert, but I was really satisfied and it was a reason for us to go back and for me to take my curiosity away.

Hmm Da Brambini - What we think

The evening couldn't have been more enjoyable, an intimate venue, ideal for couples or more sophisticated celebrations.
The whole house is decorated with pictures of Italy, so I was able to go back a little on our delicious trip!
Wonderful food without taking anything away, all the seasoning just right.
We were able to relax with a great white wine, in fact Da Brambini has an excellent wine list!
The price is more than fair, with cheaper dishes and others a little more expensive, but for a special evening it's well worth it and I thought it was good value for money.
We left more than satisfied and very happy with the service and standard of quality.
And I'm even happier to be able to visit another wonderful place in Rio de Janeiro.
