Beautiful places to visit with natural pools
Natural pools formed by reefs at low tide, places where the sea meets the lagoon, dunes as far as the eye can see and extensive coconut groves? Yes, we do!
And you don't even have to go to less accessible places, because the northeastern capitals offer all this with all the necessary tourist infrastructure.
That's why traveling to the Northeast is one of the favorite options for tourists. The natural beauty, the warm sunny climate all year round, the hospitable people and the good food are the main attractions.
In addition, many famous beach locations are very close to these capitals, which makes it easy to include one or more destinations in your travel itinerary.
Do you want to enjoy the natural pools of the Brazilian Northeast?
So start with the five capitals below!
1. João Pessoa, the capital of Paraíba - PB
João PessoaJampa, also known by the affectionate nickname of Jampa, is a slower-paced city compared to other northeastern capitals.
It's the perfect balance between the hustle and bustle of a metropolis and the tranquillity of beach style by the sea.
The city has an extensive coastline, full of beaches surrounded by coconut palms, with natural blue-green pools that form at low tide.
A good example is Picãozinho Beach, as well as other quiet beaches such as Bessa, Cabo Branco, Manaíra and Tambaú. Not to mention the unmissable sunset at Jacaré Beach.
The region also offers a beautiful historic center with some monuments that you can't miss in your photos, such as the Cabo Branco Lighthouse and the Cabo Branco Station, which was designed by Niemeyer.
To round off the itinerary, there's nothing like Paraiba cuisine at the end of all these tours.
2. Natal, the capital of Rio Grande do Norte - RN
Natal, the capital of Rio Grande do Norte, is a city surrounded by countless natural beauties, always tempered by the constant wind that softens the heat.

In Natal, you can enjoy it all: quiet beaches or beaches ideal for surfing, dunes, rivers, lagoons, reefs with natural pools of greenish water and cliffs make up the landscape.
There's no shortage of attractions, such as the buggy ride from the beaches to the dunes. In addition, nearby destinations like Praia da Pipain the municipality of Tibau do Sul, which is just 85 km from the capital, can be included in your itinerary if the idea is to make the most of the region.
3. Maceió, the capital of Alagoas - AL
Maceió, the capital of Alagoas, is one of the most paradisiacal destinations in the Northeast, not to mention the whole of Brazil.
Pajuçara Beach is the city's most famous, but the entire city offers beaches with a greenish sea, natural pools and one of the most beautiful urban shorelines in the country, a true Brazilian Caribbean.
Other outstanding beaches in Maceió are Praia do Francês and Praia do Gunga, as well as Ponta Verde and Jatiúca.
For those wishing to extend their trip, Maragogi, home to the famous Galés (natural pools), is just 140 km from the capital. Other nearby towns worth visiting are São Miguel dos Milagres and Porto das Pedras, where the famous Patacho Beach is located (20 km from Maragogi).

5. São Luís, the capital of Maranhão - MA
São LuísIn addition to having many natural beauties, it is one of those historic cities that still preserves a very rich and valuable colonial heritage.

However, about 250 km from the capital, we left all this French colonial culture behind to enjoy one of the most beautiful natural landscapes in Brazil.
The sweet lagoons between the dunes of the Lençóis Maranhenses National Park, one of the most extraordinary phenomena of interdune lagoons by the sea.
The whole region is made up of white sand dunes, mangroves, rivers and lagoons, which are formed by rainwater to offer this impressive scenery - real "sheets of water" amidst the immensity of the sand desert. The park is also home to the region's most beautiful lagoons.
