How we send our money from Brazil to Portugal
Many of the questions we get after coming to live in Portugal are related to the financial side of things.
How do I send money abroad? What is the best way? How do you do it? Is it through the bank? Today we use Online shipping.
Well, we've done it many ways, from bank transfers, which by the way is the worst of them, to Western Union, Transferwise and Online shipping. And I can tell you that the easiest ones are: the Online Shipping and Transferwise. Without a shadow of a doubt, both are the ones I've used the most in my life.
However, like everything in life, of course, there are good and bad sides to both, for example: Transferwise has a very low limit on one-off or annual transactions, allowing you to send a maximum of 50,000 reais in a year without having to show your IRS.
The Online Shipping has a limit of 75,000 reais per year and 37,500 per day. To make transactions with larger amounts you need to show the IRS
In addition to the annual submission limit, the Online Shipping has still won in terms of the currency rate, and there's also the question of the cost of the operation! I got a fixed discount of 10% off this rate from Online Shipping on all transactions using the crispelomundo coupon and details! All new registrations until December 2019 get this ZERO fee!!! You don't even have to use the voucher.
Click here and register now.
Ahhh, cool Cris! So I only have to worry about the exchange rate to know which one is more worthwhile, right? NO!!!
The value of the transaction will be the sum of these issues and that's why I think Remessa Online comes out ahead:
- Commercial of the currency;
- Operation "Spread on the price", which is a cost built into the exchange rate that the bank or broker offers you. offers you;
- Tax on Financial Operations
- bank transfer bank transfer fees (charged by the intermediary)
- Income and others, according to according to the nature of the consignment.
Best rate and discount on money transfer transactions abroad abroad
But why do you think Online Shipping comes out ahead? For the simple reason that the quote is usually better and you still get 10% off item 2 every time! And if you're a new customer, you'll also get 100% off item 2 on your first transaction under 12,000 reais (if you do it by December 2019).
Well, I've already given good reasons, and after I met Online Shipping I haven't sent money abroad with any other company.
However, like everything else in life, there is a downside, the Online Shipping only makes the transaction via TED, unfortunately the Online Shipping does not work with boleto Bancário.
So don't forget to factor in the value of the TED, or know how to use the TED very well, as I do. In my account I have two free TEDs a month and I use them in these cases or when the transfer is high, the exchange rate beats the difference in the value of the TED and the transaction ends up being more advantageous even if I pay the TED.
Transfer money abroad on the same day!
Another positive point Online Shipping is extremely fast. If you make the transfer today, the money usually arrives on the same working day! I'll put the comparison table here.
Institution | Deadline |
Shipping Online | same day
(UK and Europe) up to 1 working day (other destinations) |
Transferwise | 2 to 4 working days days |
Itaú | up to 2 working days days |
Bradesco | up to 2 working days days |
Bank of Brazil | 2 working days or more |
Western Union | 1 to 2 working days days |
Well, I've written this text to answer a lot of questions I've received and, of course, to help you understand the best way to transfer money from Brazil to other countries or from other countries to Brazil.
If anyone has any more tips, please leave them in the comments.
Another cool thing!
In the past, there was a high bank fee on these Remessa Online transactions, however, to make life easier for its customers, Remessa Online has managed to zero out this fee for transactions over R$2500.00 and lower the fee to R$5.90 for transactions under this amount!
So as I've said before, the bigger the transaction, the better in every way.
