Peugeot 3008 - Much more than a car.

Inspiration is something that motivates you to create or improve something that already exists and turn it into an innovative, unique and exclusive masterpiece. This is exactly the word that defines the new Peugeot 3008, full of inspiration and sensations, reviving the prestige of the brand with the concept of driving pleasure.

What many people don't know is that the mark of the lion was inspired by one of the most beautiful instruments, a symbol of refinement and sophistication for centuries, capable of awakening the sensations of the soul with its sweet and soft notes. The grand piano can take you to the unexpected if played by someone who knows what they're doing.

So Peugeot turned to those who know best in the art of making cars and transformed the Peugeot 3008 into a work of art on wheels, powered by the 1.6 Turbo engine made in partnership with BMW.

The brand's mission is to show what it has come for, to return to the premium segment and win the market with an innovative proposal that delivers the highest standard in every detail at a fair price.

Beyond expectations

We were invited to take a closer look and see what the brand is promising. We arrived at the Rio International Airport parking lot and there were several copies of the model in various colors for us to choose the one that best suited us.

The reaction of everyone present on first contact with the Peugeot 3008 was unanimous... WOWALLL THAT CAR!!! They even say that the first impression is the one that sticks, and in that sense it had already exceeded all expectations.

We chose orange/copper, I don't even know why...lol I thought it was the prettiest, it was my favorite color too!!! I opened the doors and another surprise, WHAT A MACHINE!!! Igor, who is always up to date with all the latest automotive news, already had an idea of what he would find. But he was surprised nonetheless and sometimes forgot he had a camera in his hands and lost focus amid so much refinement and technology.

You know when adults turn into children and children want to be adults so they can speed up the imposing little toy?! So Igor wasn't so mature and turned into a child, wanting nothing more than to get on the road. Then came another surprise. 

Surprise!

We thought we'd be doing a test drive here in the city, at most between one neighborhood and another! But inside the Peugeot 3008 there was a tablet with some information for the Emotion Drive participants, and I mean emotion. We found out that we were going to go to Itaipava and then literally set foot on the road to Petrópolis, a town in Rio's mountainous region.

That was it, I'd been won over, the trip, the orange car, what more could I want?! All I needed now was a massage so I could enjoy the road... Then came the explanations of the Peugeot 3008's functions and guess what?! Siiiimmm! Wish fulfilled, the seats have a massage that obeys 5 modes of action selected by the Peugeot 3008's multimedia screen.

Remember I said at the beginning that the Peugeot 3008 was inspired by the piano?! So, the controls are summed up in a few buttons that resemble the keys of the instrument, all very simple and intuitive.

I mastered it quickly and took over the co-pilot's seat, choosing the perfect soundtrack for our Emotion Drive. Music chosen, sunroof open and massage mode activated, let's go!

The Peugeot 3008 responds well on the road, you can feel the car on the ground even on the sharpest bends. The engine response was also very good on the hills!

I could confirm this with every compliment Igor made when he saw it all in practice. The BR 040 helped, it is perfectly structured, there would be no better place for it, not least because our destination matched the standard of the product presented, Locanda De La Mimosa.

Lots of adventures.

On the tablet there was a spreadsheet to be followed in the style of rally competitions, we had to compare the distance covered with that indicated on the spreadsheet, following the guidelines. I loved it and it reminded me of our adventure on the REAL ROADwhere we also chose to be guided by navigation sheets.

That way, the thrill is guaranteed and everyone on board is involved - I wasn't just a passenger. We cut through the mountains amid breathtaking scenery and arrived in bucolic Itaipava. This is a noble region of the Rio de Janeiro hills, a favorite destination for high society to enjoy a mountain climate and taste fine food and wine.

We were welcomed with a wonderful lunch where we were able to exchange experiences with bloggers, journalists and even fans of the brand. I thought it was great that Peugeot was supporting us and repaying our affection by providing experiences like this, it shows that they are close to their customers, it really won me over.

The Peugeot 3008 is so exciting that it won me over!

After lunch, I didn't hold back and wanted to try my hand at the wheel.
I came all this way and I wasn't going to drive this car? No, no, no! Igor explained to me how the gearshift works, a lever that looks like a video game joystick, this is my area...hehe...yes I'm a bit of a geek, I love video games.

I quickly got used to it and Igor had to convince me to give it back to him. He still wanted to give it some more throttle and try out the manual and sport modes. We already know the THP engine in the 408 which really showed an excellent consumption vs. power ratio on the highway! Now we wanted to see how this engine would respond in the Peugeot 3008, which is much heavier than the 408. You can see the answer in the video.

Hotel Emiliano

We went down the mountain and enjoyed the end of the day at the Emiliano hotel. What a treat, I'll never get used to it, what a class A day! We enjoyed a magnificent sunset in the little princess of the sea and tested the E-Kick, an electric scooter that promises to complement the urban transportation of those who buy the first units of the model.

We had dinner and ended with a sensational party, a special get-together where we were able to talk to the creators of the Peugeot 3008. Including the designer Daniel Nozaki, who took part in the project, so what stands out most about the car is its striking design, a magnificent piece of work!

We were very happy to be invited and I can tell you that the Peugeot 3008 is TOP!!!! It deserves it and it's going to shake up the competition!
