Prainha Trail - Mirante do Caeté - RJ

Touring Rio de Janeiro

Rio 40º wonder city of beauty and trails! That's right, Rio de Janeiro is known the world over for its beauty, beaches and nature.
It couldn't be any different, could it? The city is beautiful, full of natural contours that frame every landscape and its trails are gaining more and more traction among Cariocas and tourists!
As well as being super healthy, it gives you an incredible feeling when you reach the top of the trails, the view is amazing and the peace is incredible! It's really worth it, each one as beautiful as the last.
I confess that I'm eternally in love with trails, so whenever I can I collect one more!

Today I'm going to talk about the trail in Prainha Park that leads to the Mirante do Caeté, a very quiet and democratic trail.

[small_header]How to get there[/small_header]

Access to Prainha is not very easy! But you can get there by car or public transport.

Bus.
You have to take a bus that goes in the direction of Recreio dos Bandeirantes and takes you to Estrada do Pontal, you have to get off at the first point after you stop looking at the beach.
Going this way, the trail ends up being a little heavier, as you'll have to walk about a kilometer and a half or two to the park entrance, but the view helps! Beautiful beaches give you a nice incentive, with plenty of photo opportunities along the way.

Car.
You have to be early and then you can stop at the entrance to the park, otherwise the walk ends up being the same as the bus ride.
Why early? Normally, it's almost impossible to get there by car after midday, it's so crowded that the access is closed and no cars can get in, so as not to cause chaos.

[small_header]The Park[/small_header] It's right in front of the beach, it's beautiful and well-structured, full of toilets, showers and drinking fountains (inside the visitor center), a playground for children and delicious places to picnic! Even if you're not going to do the trail, you have the option of having a good time, not to mention the beautiful fauna and flora!

[small_header]Trail[/small_header] It's super easy, I'd even say it's the easiest I've ever done! It only takes about 30 minutes and the most tiring part is the last 10 minutes, because it's steeper.
Anyone can do it, you just have to be careful on certain stretches that are a bit narrow.
Of course, as with any trail, looking at the signs is a great option! A little after you've gone through the woods, there's a fork in the road, where you either go straight on or go up, but it's easy to find, as there's a huge sign telling you about the Mirante do Caeté, that's where you have to go up and be happy!

[small_header]Surprises[/small_header] During the trail there are some surprises and one of them is when it starts to get steep, a beautiful view of Prainha, making an easy smile come out of your face and contemplate the beautiful place, it is the part with the best view of Prainha, from up there you can better see the beaches that are on the left, Barra, Recreio, Macumba and etc.

At the end of the trail, you reach the Caeté viewpoint! Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful! With a big rock where people take lots of pictures.
But the place to get the best shot is on the rocks next to it, where you can get a great angle with you and the beaches behind.

Ahhh and then, when you've finished the trail and you're tired, there's nothing better than taking a dip on the beach, which is just opposite and simply wonderful!!!! I really enjoyed it and loved everything about it: the peaceful trail, the breathtaking views all along the way and the beach at the end.
Very tasty and a great tip for enjoying your day off in a healthy way.
