Rome and the Trevi Fountain

Last day in Rome and the hunt for the Trevi Fountain

I stopped at a restaurant near the Colosseum and chose it without any criteria, it was because of the guy in the restaurant!
I ordered a delicious gnocchi, going to Rome and not trying pasta was sacrilege! The pizza had already satisfied my craving and it really is very good! Now I wanted to know about my favorite pasta, and it didn't disappoint, Rome is a very good place to eat! And every dish I tried was worth it.

ROME AND THE FONTANA DI TREVI

The evening came and with it lots of things to see, so I quickly went to the hotel, took a shower because it was so hot and set off to explore the rest of the beautiful city of Rome!
I did everything on foot, the city is easy to walk around and the locals even encourage you by telling you that it's close, but it wasn't very easy to get to the beloved Trevi FountainI walked and asked questions, discovering incredible places along the way! I took a billion photos, I was enchanted and I took strategic breaks, the journey that would have taken a few minutes, lasted hours! What's not to like about Rome?
It was late in the afternoon and even so the heat didn't let up, it was very hot and the drinking fountains scattered around the city made all the difference.
TIP: Always carry a bottle in your hand, it's very easy to find public drinking fountains to fill your bottle in the city.
One of the places I liked the most on my journey was the Venice SquareThere is a water fountain there with very good water! It's also a wonderful place and makes for great photos in the evening light.

From there I continued walking and passed several fountains, I even thought for a few seconds that they could be the Trevi Fountain, they were grand and beautiful, one of them even had a very nice Mc Donald's in front, it was all themed, designed and decorated like ancient Rome, super cool!
I took advantage of the break to ask again about the Fontana, how I would get there, since every time I asked they sent me the other way, but always telling me I was close, so I went after the beautiful Fontana once more.
I walked and walked and came across a gelateria. Everyone knows the fame of Roman gelato, right?

Of course, I stopped briefly to try them and chose the nutella one! Nooooooossssssssssaaaaaaa! Imagine a transcendental sensation, what a wonderful thing, it melted in your mouth, but it was creamy and consistent, a unique sensation! I've never had such good ice cream, or rather gelato! And the best thing was that when I left there I'd come right up to the Fontana, it was so close.
TIP: The gelateria near the Fontana is the best of all and has a thousand perfect flavors!

Ahhh!!! The Fountain! Remember how I passed by other fountains and thought they might be just as beautiful? Well, forget it! The Fontana is like no other, everything there was wonderful and perfect, magical! The lighting, the color of the water, the statues, everything was beautiful and very pleasant.
I was like a fool watching everything for a while, until the truth hit me and I realized that I was really there, that it wasn't a dream, but my daydreams were soon interrupted by some very annoying guys who kept offering to take photos in exchange for money.

TIP: Run away from these guys, and be smart! Because once you get rid of one, you'll end up with three more.
LODGING TIP : If you're thinking of going to Italy and seeing all that Rome has to offer, it's worth searching for hotels on trivago, where you'll find the best hotels at the best prices. To access the site just click here.
After a few passes outside, I finally managed to take advantage of the Fontana and throw in my coin and then everyone was asked to leave, I was startled to think that it had closed for the hour, but it was just a cleaning break.
TIP: Keep your wits about you and when they open again run to take a photo with no one to spoil it, or rather, almost no one!

That's what I did, I watched and as soon as they opened, I ran and enjoyed the Fontana without the sea of people!
It only lasted three minutes, and of course it would soon fill up again, but the few minutes I had were enough for a good photo.
I stayed there for a while longer, I didn't want to leave! But night was falling and my body was reminding me that I needed to sleep. The next day I still had a train trip to Civitavecchia, a port in Italy, where I would take a cruise for 7 days.
So I went back to the hotel.
