Thailand, quite an adventure.
The beginning of a dream came about six months ago, when I unassumingly opened the ticket promotions app and saw THAILAND for 700 reais with taxes! Thailand was already a paradise dream.
Right away I called Igor and told him that we would be leaving for Asia around my birthday and that I had given myself this trip as a present, lol.
What do you mean? Are you crazy? I never thought I'd go there, let alone with a two-year-old! We have children, have you forgotten?
A thousand questions came at once, but I must be crazy! From the first second I knew that traveling with my little one would be the least of my problems.
After all, there are children in Asia too lol.
Okay, maybe a flight of more than 30 hours would be more problematic, but by then I already had a thousand cards up my sleeve, and my mind almost immediately started thinking about all these alternatives.
And the millions of flights we've taken around Brazil have given me a good basis for putting together something really cool.
Ticket confirmed!
The moment the confirmation ticket arrived I jumped for joy and thought, okay! Now it's for real and we're going on a great adventure!
Thailand was no longer a dream, but a reality.
Our little one's first international trip is going to be in style.
I've always wanted a trip outside the clichés, I'd thought about Africa, but that will have to wait a little longer. The promotion for Thailand came along and decided for us, so here we go.
Promotion?!
Hold on, 700 reais promotion to Thailand with taxes? Tell us more about that.
Okay, it wasn't really a promotion, so let's just say that the company promoted it, it was a mistake! Lol but I ended up taking advantage and ENJOYING this mistake.
I bought it as soon as I saw it and was trying my best to get on board, until the last minute I couldn't believe it.
It was a lot of sand for our little truck, lol... would we really go to the other side of the WORLD paying only ONE THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED REAIS for THE THREE OF US? Yes, the little one paid even less, hehehehe.
Ahhh a very important detail, we flew with one of the best airlines in the world, Turkish airlines, which by the way will have a whole post dedicated to how good it is and how our little one fared in the more than 30 hours between flights.
Lots of little toys.
They are super cute with children and Emmanuel left full of gifts, we loved them and the flights were very smooth, our little one behaved very well!
But I'm sure the flight kit I brought helped, after all, it takes 30 hours to entertain a 2-year-old, right? Ahhh there'll be a whole post about that too 😉 Flight survival kit for kids lol.
The adventure has begun.
I want to see the whole world, so I'm going with the tide, or rather in the direction of the promotions.
Even more so after having children, we know that costs increase a lot! So my destinations are chosen like this, is it worth it? So let's get to know them.
Igor is already more thoughtful in this regard, he always asks me a thousand times if it's worth it and I end up convincing him lol.
He wanted to give up on Thailand until I showed him that it was possible and that it would be a delight!
I'm glad he's on board with my madness!
A thousand opinions.
As soon as we told them about our next folly, a million opinions came pouring in.
The same questions Igor asked me, and a whole bunch of new ones.
After all, it's not very common to fly 30 hours (on the way back it was a bit longer) with a two-year-old, let alone to a country where almost everything is spicy and different!
The language is practically a barrier, it's very difficult to find someone who speaks English well, and the customs are completely different!
What about the spindle? Would he be able to play with his friends? Would he make any? How would he react to so much newness? Would it be torture? That's not too much of a sacrifice for him, is it?
Look, I'll tell you right now that it was SURPRISING, and when I say surprising I'm not exaggerating! I'm going to do a post explaining all this too.
For now, I only have one thing to say: IT WAS VERY MUCH WORTH IT, everything we experienced is priceless.
Don't be afraid and go for it, it's the best gift you can give your little ones.
Much more than I could have imagined - Thailand a real dream!!!
I always try to embark with no expectations and let myself be surprised as much as possible, and this trip was no different.
We chose a few destinations to visit, saw what was unmissable and decided on the tours right here.
Lol when I say here, it's because I started writing this post on the plane leaving this country that has won my heart.
I miss you so much that I couldn't help but at least start and keep my feelings in the text.
The land of smiles, lush landscapes and the simplicity that fills us really touched me.
On every trip I change a little and I'm sure that's already happening with my little one too.
Our connection and the progress in your learning is frightening with every landing
Children understand each other regardless of language.
Not to mention that his contact with people from all over the world is enriching! He's already becoming a man of the world, has no frills and is completely adaptable to any situation.
He managed to make a lot of friends, some of them didn't say a word, they understood each other by looking at each other and everything was fine.
Being able to show him the diversity and richness of the world is priceless! I don't just want him to live watching TV or discovering the world through a cell phone screen.
The best present I could give my little one is this! To prepare him for the world and for whatever comes his way.
Yes, but unforeseen events happen.
Igor ended up piercing his foot on a rock as we were getting off the boat, and he was in pain for a few days.
The wound became inflamed and I could no longer wear shoes, only slippers.
Of course we thought of a little pharmacy for our little one, we even took antibiotics, medicine for seasickness and everything else, but we completely forgot about antiseptic and bandages.
And I'll tell you, understanding Thai and buying it there is quite a game of spoils lol!
So go prepared! Don't forget even the obvious.
Food, water and piriris.
I'd read and heard a lot that you were bound to get chilblains in Thailand, that the food was spicy and that you should be very careful with the water there.
Everything I bought for Emmanuel, I would ask a million times if there was any pepper in it, and I would taste it before giving it to him.
Luckily, it's easy to find chicken without pepper and normal rice, and that was it for him almost the whole trip.
Few times did we dare, but I tried everything! Only the scorpion will be left for next time, it's not a typical food lol You can only find it at the Night Market, which we didn't go to.
Ohhh and only drink the water if it's sealed, that's the trick to avoid getting a cold.
We haven't had any ourselves, thank God!!!
The water there is very different from ours, so the body really reacts, there's no way.
Enjoy the neighboring countries.
Ahhh, last thing before I finish this mini text and start writing the next ones! Lol I'm really looking forward to telling you all about this trip.
If you're staying for a long time, make the most of it and visit the neighboring countries, it's VERY cheap to travel around Southeast Asia, but don't go thinking that Thailand is tiny and you can do a thousand countries in a short time.
We spent 15 days traveling and there was still plenty to see, the beaches are beautiful and Thailand is huge! One place is more enchanting than the next, but being close to Cambodia, Malaysia, Singapore and a lot of other cool places is also tempting.
We took the opportunity to visit Singapore, the best choice for our little one to enjoy the parks, but that's for another article.
See you soon! I'll tell you all about our trip.
