5th Meeting of Intrip Travelers.
From June 2 to 4, we went to Teresópolis to take part in the 5th Encontro de Viajantes do INTRIP.
It was a great pleasure to be able to take part in this event and a huge honor to be invited!
On our side were 16 other blogs that are among the best in BRAZIL!
Of course, all the best couldn't be there for various reasons, but all the persistent ones are certainly on this list.
The meeting was organized by Fábio Lima, founder of INTRIP, an experience tourism website!
We had already taken part in other events and meetings that he promoted and I have only one thing to say: we were looking forward to it! Good things were sure to come of it.
A whole weekend in Teresópolis
We met at Santos Drummond Airport and we all got on the bus that accompanied us all the way back.
On average it takes an hour and thirty minutes to cover the 96km distance between Rio and Teresópolis, but this time the traffic helped us stay on the road a little longer.
Fortunately, the bus was very comfortable and Igor, the little one and I were able to take a nap and arrive at Teresópolis well rested.
Opening of the meeting
We arrived straight at the Pousada where we would be staying, completely beautiful and charming.
But all we did was check in, leave our things and rush off to the next activity.
The opening event of the meeting was to be at dinner and they had handpicked the right people to get us off on the right foot.
As soon as we entered, we saw our seats marked with signs, a pamphlet about the event and a super cute treat, a delicious honey bun from Sweet Marias! A delight and another surprise when we opened it, a beautiful personalized saying for each traveler at the table.
We were overjoyed and it was only the beginning of three days of activities, what a surprise!
Dinner was at Don Phillipe Gastronomia, a delicious trattoria with handmade pasta and unbeatable flavor!
Don Phillipe Gastronomy
A very charming and welcoming atmosphere, I was charmed right from the entrance.
O Don Philippe Gastronomy is in the Várzea neighborhood, very close to the center and easy to get to.
We arrived, settled in and the pizzas started arriving!
Forget any idea of a simple pizza rotation with only traditional flavors.
Thin dough and an explosion on your palate is what you'll find. It was very difficult to choose the best salty flavor.
The pasta also made the dinner a joy, along with a beautiful presentation!
Now if you think you can't be surprised anymore, wait for the sweet flavors! KINDER OVO PIZZA!!!! Seriously the best sweet pizza I've ever had in my life!!!
Beer Route
There's no doubt in my mind that I'll go up the mountain just to go to this pizzeria.
For the drinks, the people from Rota Cervejeira do Rio did the honors! Of course, Therezópolis beer couldn't be left out, but I also really liked Bohemia's Magna Pils
It was a thoroughly enjoyable evening, with lots of socializing and laughter, but it was time to head back to the Pousada, as the next day promised many more surprises!
Pousada Terê Parque.
Now we are! Rested and in daylight, we were able to see how beautiful the place is.
Spacious and with the sound of animals everywhere, we were woken up by macaws! A delicious breeze also blew across our faces, reminding us that we were in the mountains.
It's so nice, my little one ran to the café with endless joy! Greenery and space is all he likes best and there was a little farm, what more could he want?
Little Farm
He loves animals and before breakfast we were invited to visit the little farm, where he chased the chickens, saw the bunny and petted it.
Oops, but there's one more animal, so you've met the guinea pig, the new star of the weekend.
She saw the garden, where the vegetables that make up her plate come from, and even met the macaws.
We happily made our way to the café, where we were well fed for the next attraction!

PARNASO
We moved on to our next attractions, the morning was very full, but before we reached the PARNASO (Serra dos Órgãos National Park) We left Teresópolis and stopped at the Mirante do Soberbo, very close to the city gate! That strategic pit stop that EVERYONE makes when they're arriving in Teresópolis, for me the best view of the Finger of God. Our Brazil is so beautiful, it's a pleasure.
Did you know that PARNASO is so big that it covers FOUR municipalities? It is located in the Serra dos Órgão massif, covering the municipalities of Guapimirim, Magé, Petrópolis and Teresópolis. The main headquarters are in Teresópolis, where visitors will find a wide range of facilities. It's huge, and an asset that we should conserve forever, with its greenery and wild animals.
Lectures
As soon as we arrived at the park, we headed for the auditorium where we would attend some very instructive and motivating talks. The first speaker was biologist Isabela Deiss de Farias, who explained the importance of the park and biodiversity for the planet as a whole.
Emmanuel listened to everything very concentrated, repeating a few loose words, ANIMALS, FOREST, lol he was so cute! He even learned that the Tijuca Forest used to be a coffee plantation, did you know that?
THE EXP
Next came Fábio Lima, the creator of the Meeting, who spoke a little more about his entire journey and even more about the love he has built for Teresópolis!
In addition to a super novelty, the THE EXP is an operator of experience itineraries in the Serrana Region for us to explore the best the region has to offer, from the Rota Cervejeira to trekking to see the moonrise with cheeses and wines, I loved it!
Volunteer Vacation
To round off this super instructive and motivating morning, Mari, one of the country's most promising young women, came to the table. She introduced us to Volunteer Vacation, the company she founded. A perfect idea for anyone who likes to travel and help! With stories to fill our eyes with tears and pride that people like this still exist. It showed us that volunteering doesn't have to be painful and that you can and should have a lot of fun on missions, after all helping others is very good and fulfilling.
Picnic in the park!
Right after the lectures we had a lovely picnic with baskets and everything, a delight!
There were lots of goodies, from wonderful chocolates to fruit and natural juices!
It was a time to relax and talk, we even had a massage, which I obviously enjoyed, I love it! Emmanuel ate his sandwich, chocolate and juice and we were well fed for the next attraction, which would be right there in the park.
Visitor center
Before the hike, we were taken to the park's visitor center and given a brief lesson on the park's flora and fauna. Emmanuel was able to see the animals that inhabit the park, such as the dreaded snake - they weren't real, but he got a good idea of what they look like.
The morning was so hectic for him that in the middle of the explanation he ended up falling asleep on our laps and we continued along the trail to Poço Dois Irmãos.
Trail!
It went very smoothly and in 200 meters we were at the wonderful Poço with its calm waters and rocks showing that nature is amazing. Emmanuel soon woke up and jumped around a bit with us among the rocks. Too bad the weather was very cold and the dive was left for another occasion.
Henrique, the guide who accompanied us, explained that in summer the well is even more beautiful, with its emerald green waters. I can't wait to go back, and speaking of going back, Emmanuel did the whole trail on his own.
At first he complained a bit, but after he got his "staff" everything became easier, he looked like a big man pulling the trail, lol Who gave him the "staff" was his friend Gilson Fumaça lol who does a great job in Santa Marta and is very used to trails. Tour complete, let's move on to the next attraction!
Comary Farm
Before heading back to the Pousada and getting ready for dinner, we decided to stop off at one of the most talked-about attractions, especially at World Cup time, lol The Granja Comary, that's not a strange name, is it? It's where the CBF headquarters are located and where our beloved national team trains. But if it's where the national team trains, why Granja?
The site used to be a farm owned by Carlos Guinle and the name was Granja Comary. After it was allotted land, they decided to keep the name and that's why we still call the place Granja Comary.
It is one of the noblest neighborhoods in the city and has a beautiful lake from where you can see the peak of the Serra dos Órgãos and even the tip of the Dedo de Deus. It is also a historical and cultural heritage site, listed by Teresópolis City Hall.
Dinner! Varietá
After this little cultural bath, we went to get ready for dinner! I was dying to try some more of the city's delicacies and this time we were going to the Varietá. As the name suggests, it's full of variety lol, very wide with barbecue, salad buffet, pasta, fish, Japanese and even soups!
I made a plate of fish, meat, rice and potatoes for the little one and attacked the Japanese with Igor. We ate and repeated, it was delicious! We love it and it's hard to resist good old japa, hehehe.
But even after I'd had my fill, I ended up attacking some of the soups, the onion broth was magnificent, nham nhammm. The evening was great, but time was running out and we needed to go back to the Pousada and rest, the next day was going to be full and the farewell to the event.
Farewell to the hostel
We slept like angels, woke up to that delicious bush noise and finished packing our things, it was already time to check out. Unfortunately, the weekend flew by and we only had an hour to say goodbye to hostel.
We ran to the Macaws, we went in and cuddled, Emmanuel went to the farm to say goodbye, he jumped in the playground, everything we could do. Breakfast this morning was a bit quicker and sadder, I hate saying goodbye to places! We left with the certainty that we'll be back soon and with the whole family! We got on the bus with our bags and headed off to our last activities.
Historic Sobrado José Francisco Lippi
The Sobrado is located at KM 15 of the Teresópolis Friburgo road, a treasure trove of Brazilian history! Right at the entrance we were greeted by two gentlemen, Professor Regina Furtado Lippi Leite and her husband José Felipe Lippi Leite, both dressed in character and very friendly!
Regina doesn't deny her education, but she immediately began to show her teacher side and told us all about the magical history of the place and her new passion. She went on and on and I lived the whole story with her, I was enchanted!
An unexpected gift
The two lived in the center of Teresópolis until José Felipe inherited the house in 1990 and they decided to move. The 19th century townhouse had been closed for 25 years and when the two opened its cellars, they were startled. A pile of boxes containing letters, clocks, machines and many records of our country's history.
It's incredible to be able to see such important things up close. Emmanuel can see a telephone from the last century that still works today, completely different from the cordless phones or cell phones he knows today.
We strolled around the huge property and were delighted by the care and affection of everything that surrounds it. By the way, do you know Confeitaria Colombo?
It was on that old farm that the local quinces were produced! A relic discovered through letters found in the cellar.
I was very happy to be able to see the house!
Paradise Garage
But it was almost lunchtime and the event would end elsewhere.
We arrived and were amazed at what a nice place it was! Perfect for day, night and any time of day. With a huge stage, a garage at the back and lots of old cars to decorate. As well as being a restaurant with great shows, Paradise Garage is actually a fabulous vintage car workshop! Some cars are always on display, such as 4 vintage cars, 3 of which were VW Beetles, which Emmanuel went crazy to see.
But don't stop there! Walk a little further and you'll discover an even bigger garage with lots of incredible old cars that are there to be repaired.
I thought it was great, enjoying a night there must be pretty cool too. We sat down, ordered our dishes and what a delight!
Delights on the menu
We sat down, ordered our dishes and what a delight!
Igor and I chose the picanha with risotto, me with salad and him with potatoes lol.
To accompany lunch, he didn't hold back and ordered a nice beer, after all, we were on a bus.
Emmanuel has already gone for the children's dish, which, by the way, is very well served! He ate well and still had half the plate left over. If he'd known beforehand, he would have ordered a plate for both of us.
Everything at Paradise Garage is themed, even the menu is a beetle or a steering wheel, which distracted Emmanuel.
But that wasn't enough; the rest of the distraction was running around among the real vintage cars at the back of the store.
All fed up, it was time to say goodbye and set off for Rio de Janeiro.
We left with many fond memories and looking forward to the 6th Travelers' Meeting!
Fabio, don't take too long, we're already missing you.
