Getting a taste of Sergipe.
Right at fervor of the municipal market and its endless varieties, it is possible to find a great option to try the Sergipe cuisineI had lunch there on our first day there. The restaurant Casserole is on the second floor of the Antônio Franco marketThe decor is lovely and the view is enchanting.
I was really looking forward to trying the typical foods with funny names. There's Shrimp in their underwear, a virgin girl, a hot black man, a fiery old woman and even a hen with a baby.!!! Kkkk
We arrived on Thursday and during the week the restaurant operates on the self-serviceI went straight to the buffet, which was completely delicious and Northeastern. mini acarajésthey were dumplings, vatapá, caruru, shrimp, everything separate so that we can assemble the acarajé our way, not to mention the options of moqueca, feijoada and everything else, I found it very varied with salads and food even for those who don't like seafood!
But what about the food with the different name?? No weekdays? For example underwear shrimp?! Well, that's because fameis located at menu alwaysThe others only enter the weekends and holidays! OBVIOUS that my curiosity wouldn't let me stop tasting the shrimp in my underwear lol and I went for my second round right after enjoying the buffet, after all you YOU NEED TO PROVE IT to understand the why the nameI'm not going to tell you here and I'll make you curious too... hihihihi! But here's a photo to give you a hint.
The dish comes with rice, pirão, vinaigrette and farofa and comes in two sizes, the M which costs R$ 69,00 and the G costing R$ 87,00For the drinks, I abused fruit juices, the glass of 300 ml costs 3,80 and jug R$7,60 I preferred the jug for the cost-benefit ratio, if I let myself I'll drink the juice, another tip is to try the juices typical of the regionsuch as mangabaEven the baby drank the juices.
It was an extremely pleasant with the breeze coming from the riverto soften the strong heat, a delicious wind who rocked the conversation, was at the table with granddaughter of Lampião and Maria Bonita, the journalist Vera Ferreirawe had the pleasure of listening to several of rich stories about both of them, but I'll tell you in another post, since there's too much to write here and we deserve a bit of the history of the cangaço!
Time for DESSERT! Nhammm, which one do I choose??? Virgin girl or hot black guy?? From the names I'm sure you've made a mistake, although the Negão Gostoso is nothing less than chocolate shavings with cholocate syrup, hummmmm I preferred the Moça Virgem, amooo tapioca and the virgin girl has tapioca ice cream with flambéed bananasnhaaammmm, there are two options from Moça Virgem, the Mocinha which costs R$ 5,00 and is just the right size for one person and the Girl costing R$ 6.50, serving two people who aren't very hungry, lol.
The Hot black guy costs R$ 5.50. But where's Fiery Veil?? This is another dessert with tapioca ice cream, but with seasonal fruit compote and its price is R$ 7,00.
Eiiita restaurant doom see? So much good stuff that it's hard to say whether I preferred the desserts or the food. the two complement each other and it's an experience that I highly recommend to start getting to know the city.
Did you like it? Which food and dessert you choose?
