Staying with children in Thailand

Crown Lanta

We were very lucky with all the accommodations during our trip, so it's hard to choose the best one, but I want to tell you a bit more about staying with a child in Thailand.
I can't say the same for Singapore, but I'll leave that for other posts lol.

Well, the dream of visiting Thailand's most famous beaches was fulfilled, but I didn't want to stop there, I wanted to see as much as possible! So we got off the tourist trail a bit and headed for a quieter spot.

Ko Lanta, an island still in the province of Krabi, but far to the south.

Although it is an island, it is possible to get there by car. There is a ferry service that connects to the highway.
Normally the distance from Ao Nang to Ko Lanta is 98km and takes an average of 2 hours and 10 minutes, but it can take a little longer depending on the ferry timetable. It's also common to use the sea route; speedboats make the Ao Nang - Ko Lanta journey much quicker, but the conditions weren't favorable and we were advised to take the car.

We made this journey in two parts, both the hotel we were staying at, Alisea Pool Villas, and Crown Lanta, provide airport transfers, so Alisea Pool Villas took us to Krabi Town airport and Crown Lanta picked us up to continue on to Ko Lanta.
On both stretches, we were completely comfortable and very well looked after, we even slept a little and the next thing we knew, a beautiful beach began to appear and then we arrived at a beautiful gate and saw a WONDERFUL structure.

We checked in, were warmly welcomed with refreshing drinks, got information about tours and went to our room.

The hotel is so big that we needed a ride on a trolley from reception to our room.

The room

Imagine a great room, now multiply it by a thousand!
Wonderful bed, with a sofa that later became a bed for our little one.

Sockets on both sides of the bed and a spectacular view of the sea with daily sunsets.

The closet had a great "balcony", opening onto both the bedroom and the bathroom, all with our convenience in mind.

Bathroom

Bright and spacious bathroom, with a special corner for putting on make-up

Desk with drawers, chair, mirror and good lighting, perfect for us women to look our best.

The shower is large, with a very nice shower, and the best thing! The window looks out onto the sea, it feels like you're immersed in nature, very relaxing.

Living room

Okay, you thought it was over, didn't you?
When we entered the room, we entered through the living room, where the TV, sofa and minibar are.

A very nice space, where we had a few meals, a delight to enjoy with the family over a meal or in the evening in total privacy.
We had a few rainy late nights and having this space to ourselves was essential for us to feel cozier, as if we were at home.

It was really nice to sit there, listening to the noise of the rain in our pool.
Hello?! Your pool?

Master surprise! Private pool

That's right, if the bedroom was on one side of the room, the pool was on the other!

Every day we had a wonderful swim and it was great for our little one, who could play all the time.

I thought this was great for those looking for accommodation with children in Thailand, guaranteed to jump at any time to burn off energy!

But be careful! This worried us during the night, our little fish loves the water so much that we were afraid he would dive in at dawn.

We always checked that the door was closed properly.

More swimming pools

In addition to our private pool, Crown Lanta also has two more huge pools.
One that serves the rooms in the entrance category, in the same way, from the room straight to the water.

And another very large one, which is divided between adults and children.

The children's section is shallow and has a slide, perfect for little ones! Emmanuel went up and slid down a million times, so we cut a fold to get him out.

He didn't even want to go to the beach, he kept jumping and sliding for hours and hours!
It's very nice that the hotel has thought of the smallest details for the little ones, I really enjoyed this stay with a child in Thailand.
In the adults' area, we found a place to sunbathe and cool off at the same time and a wet bar!

Perfect for a good drink.
Of course, while Emmanuel was playing in the children's pool with his father, I took advantage and had a good swim in that huge, beautiful pool.

Private beach

Guys, this hotel is amazing!
In addition to all the pool options, the hotel also has a beach ALL to itself!

Access is exclusive to those staying at Crown Lanta and they offer sun loungers and an umbrella so we can feel completely at ease.
I let the little one run, jump and play, we were the only ones there.

Crystal clear, warm water with almost no waves, Emmanuel didn't want to leave the pool to go to the beach, and then he didn't want to leave the beach, lol.
We were very reassured to know that we were in a completely safe place, leaving us completely relaxed!

This counts for a lot when looking for accommodation.
Crown Lanta wins the most points when it comes to accommodation with children in Thailand, lol.

Breakfast

I'm a foodie and hotel breakfast is something I LOVE!
Especially when the hotel offers an INCREDIBLE variety!

We were able to have real full meals every morning.
In addition to the traditional items that we Westerners are used to, such as scrambled eggs, bread, fruit and cold cuts, it was possible to find noodles, vegetables and more varied juices and traditional Asian fruits.

I loved every bit of it.
Emmanuel ate his egg, I took advantage of the opportunity and had a few too, but the waffle with chocolate syrup was the real hit.
This was undoubtedly one of the things that could not be missing from our accommodation with children in Thailand.

We both fell for it and enjoyed it too much! Igor was more cautious and had a healthier breakfast, full of fruit lol.
Another thing I loved were the juices that speed up the metabolism, they were very tasty and refreshing.

Restaurant and Bar

We had practically all our meals at the hotel, except for one day when we had lunch on the tour we were on.

The hotel has three different restaurants, one where we had breakfast every day, another near the pool which we didn't get to know and The Reggae Bar.
Some meals were taken in the room, while others were taken at The Reggae Bar, with a combination of a privileged view and delicious food.

The sound was pleasant and the atmosphere very relaxing. We didn't feel like going out to eat in the city for a single day, we had everything in the hotel itself.
We had two different experiences at The Reggae Bar.
One day we ate in very intimate booths. Emmanuel was asleep and we left him by our side, in the arms of Morpheus.

While Igor and I were able to reminisce about the days of our courtship, we enjoyed a great dinner, eye to eye, with music playing in the background.
It was a delight!

Wonderful food and incredible sunsets

The next day, we ate early at sunset, what a spectacle!!! We're very happy to be able to experience things like this.

The Reggae Bar is right at the foot of the sea where the sunset takes place, and I think it's amazing when the sun goes down in the middle of the ocean.
While we enjoyed a wonderful family meal, a perfect natural show took place before our eyes.

Drinks, starters, wonderful food and our little one smiling to show how much he was enjoying everything.

Other options

Crown Lanta is huge and you can find a bit of everything there, I didn't really have time to enjoy it all.

You can enjoy canoeing, scuba diving or even cycling in the area, for an extra fee.
I would have loved to have had a massage in the spa or enjoyed the sauna, but those are experiences I'll have to leave for when we get back, lol.
Another nice thing is that every evening you can enjoy an afternoon tea with biscuits! Very tasty, with very different and tasty sweet fruit cakes.

The gym is also for another time, hehehe
Ahh, another nice thing for moms and dads who want to spend some time alone is the babysitting service. We didn't try it, but the hotel also offers it.

Latest thoughts on accommodation with children in Thailand

Contrary to what many people think, we didn't have any problems with the little one's diet.
Everything was very well prepared and without pepper for our little boy, we found light and healthy food for him.
The hotel gave us full support for anything we needed and he even made friends his own age.

We've seen that Crown Lanta is well prepared for children and we love that!
Armchairs to welcome them at mealtimes, toys to entertain them, safe areas for the little ones and all of this in the middle of nature.
