Accommodation with children in Bangkok

137 Pillars Suites & Residences

We had just arrived from a flight that took more than 30 hours, and we really wanted a bed and a good shower. I already knew that the journey would be tiring, so we handpicked our accommodation with children in Bangkok.

After all, we would need a much bigger structure, at least I wanted it that way, since it was our little one's first big trip.

At least the first few days should be very well planned, as adaptation may be necessary.
Thailand is 10 hours ahead of Brazil, so when we arrived in Asia at dusk, it was still dawn in Brazil, so we were in a different time zone.
There's no doubt that a good hotel on arrival would have made all the difference when it came to getting back on our feet and starting our routines again, avoiding jetlag.

The airport transfer

We were exhausted, all we wanted to do was change and pack our bags, but another trip awaited us.
The hotel offers transportation for a fee, but we prefer Uber because it's cheaper. As far as the hotel is concerned, only a limousine was necessary.
When we passed through immigration, I asked for the car and we headed for 137 Pillars Suites and Residence Bangkok, and all I could think about was the pool.

I'd read some things about cabs going around and trying to cheat tourists, so we opted for Uber, which already shows you the price and the route you have to take.
A good tip: if the hotel you're looking at for your accommodation with children in Bangkok offers transportation at a good price, pay for it!
It's an immense peace of mind not to have to wait for a car to arrive or for someone to accept the ride. And then there's the question of whether or not the driver is going to get it right. Our driver got it wrong three times, as well as the traffic, which was a killer.

We slept in the car

It's only 24km from the airport to the hotel, but Bangkok's heavy traffic makes everything difficult and it took us about two hours to get there, the three of us sleeping in the car!

We were exhausted, but it's a good thing we had internet, so that between waking up I could monitor whether we were on the right track.
Although the airport offers wi-fi, I arrived in Bangkok already connected, having ordered the EasySim4U SIM card in Brazil, which operates in 140 different countries.
I felt much safer being connected from the moment I landed, as you never know what the wi-fi will be like at the airport and how you'd get around the city without internet.
Thank God we arrived safely and the hotel was simply AMAZING!!!!
It's located in the elegant Emquartier & Emporium shopping area in the Thonglor district, so whether you're traveling for business or pleasure, you'll be well placed.

All the necessary structure in our accommodation with children in Bangkok

We chose a hotel with total structure for the start of the trip, and we were terrified of how our little one would react to the food and all the changes.
This was a very important question when researching our accommodation with children in Bangkok.
That's why we chose 137Pillars Suites & Residences for our first stay in Thailand.

We took a room that was more like a complete apartment, with a living room, kitchen, huge bathroom with a bathtub and even a washing machine and dryer.

I thought the kitchen was essential, at least for the first few days.
I had no idea how our little one would react to Thai food, which is very spicy and different from what he's used to.
So having a plan b, and being able to cook for him, put my mind at ease and was decisive in choosing our accommodation with a child in Bangkok for the first few days.

We use and abuse

The room fit like a glove, I loved having a huge bathtub to relax and recharge! Or even a washer and dryer where I could catch up on all the laundry before our next destination!
Not to mention that the fridge and kitchen came in very handy! As our little one's time zone was all changed, we bought some treats for emergencies, lol.

The first night he woke up at around 3am, starving!
I made him a snack and we spent a while in the living room eating and watching TV, while Dad rested in his room.
It was a delight to be able to have this facility and give this comfort to our little one.
Not to mention the unique moments we spent together, talking about this new adventure.

Delicious pool!

Now, in addition to all this structure, the hotel also had everything a great hotel has to offer, or better!
Even though we were tired, we couldn't resist running to the pool!
The hotel has two beautiful swimming pools, but unfortunately one of them was under maintenance and we couldn't enjoy it.
Nothing could change our wonderful stay, after all, look at that view!!!

The pool was simply PERFECT! We spent the whole evening there, playing and enjoying the top of the world.

The water is crystal-clear and the temperature is great for beating off the heat, as well as two hydros with massages where we relaxed a lot.

Best program after 30 hours traveling

We recharged all our energy! Emmanuel even got some water and an apple. They are extremely attentive at the hotel.
They also provide guests with sunscreen and towels, a service of the highest quality.
Up there, there is also a garden with sun loungers where you can enjoy the sun or just lie back and read a good book.

Igor, Emmanuel and I lay down for a while and felt all the energy that was in that place.
I reflected for a few minutes on how grateful I was for everything that was happening and I was very happy to be able to start our trip off on the right foot.

Other installations

The hotel has lots of activities!
Tennis court, fitness center, golf, library, meeting space, yoga, meditation, pilates, muay thai and everything else to make your guests feel at home.
There are also two wonderful restaurants, one on the second floor, where breakfast is served, and a more sophisticated one on the 27th floor, called Nimitr.

Nimitr has a luxurious atmosphere and is perfect for a romantic dinner at the end of the day, not to mention the breathtaking view.
It closes at 11pm and orders have to be placed well before then, so don't leave it too late or you'll be left wanting, lol that happened to us.
But we still managed to enjoy a little bit of this corner.

Leonowens Club

For some guests who book certain suites, the hotel offers the Leonowes Club, which we had the honor of visiting.
With an exclusive breakfast and drinks to pamper your guests, treats that make all the difference.

This service is offered until 10pm, and we enjoyed it on two occasions:

Breakfast

Where we tried a wonderful eggs benedict and a salmon to die for, as well as typical Thai juices.
There was also a selection of croissants, fruit and sweets!

Emmanuel ate his scrambled eggs and even made friends with a little Thai girl who was staying with his parents at the hotel.

While we ate, Emmanuel and the little princess played happily with some games that are available to the little ones.

A delight to start the day like this, with such a view and tranquility! We love it!

Late afternoon

We took the opportunity to go back to the Leonowens Club for a drink and enjoy the city at sunset.
Well worth the visit and the little treat!

The drinks came with chips and while Emmanuel slept in his baby carriage, Igor and I were able to make out like old lovers.
Sometimes we prefer to enjoy the hotel and have a meal right there, being only an elevator ride away from our room.
Especially when Emmanuel is already asleep.
We loved the experience and if you have the chance, opt for the suites that give you the right to the club.

Striving to please as much as possible

The hotel is wonderful not only for those traveling and looking for accommodation with children in Bangkok, it manages to be complete on several fronts.
Whether you're traveling for business or pleasure and don't want to lose your training routine, or just want to relax!
It has everything for everyone, but we didn't get to enjoy everything it had to offer!

The 137 Pillars Suites & Residences opened on February 15th of this year, with wonderful, modern décor, I felt very welcome!
At the Residence, they've managed to turn it into a real home! At no time did we and the little one feel like we were traveling and in a cold hotel, we were very well received.
It's no wonder that 137 Pillars is one of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World! To give you an idea, in Bangkok it and two others are on this list.
You've seen how demanding it is, right?

Breakfast

This is always the part that delights me most about hotels, I look forward to being surprised by the morning treats.
And this time I was MUCH more anxious, what would breakfast in Asia be like? Okay, I already knew that the hotel would be more international, but it would definitely have a Thai influence.

First I was impressed by the variety of croissants and pastries, then the fruit! I love pitaya and there was loads of it!
Another fruit that caught my eye was the mangosteen.

Emmanuel and I love the sweet taste and the different way the fruit tastes.
I love tasting the typical flavors, it's grown right there in Southeast Asia and I'd never seen it before.

Lots of different things

But in addition to these tasty treats, there were more different things! Have you ever had rice for breakfast? And teriyaki salmon? Or even parma ham and sweet sausages? Eggs with very orange yolks? I tried everything I could think of.

The egg tastes almost the same as the one here, perhaps a little stronger, while the sweeter flavors weren't really my thing.
I fell for the sweets, there was one with candied almonds that was to die for!

Of course, Emmanuel's usual scrambled eggs were also part of our table.
Coffee was another thing I was afraid of when staying with a child in Bangkok, but thankfully the much-loved egg was there.

We stayed for three nights, two of which we ate at the communal breakfast and one at the Leonowens Club.
I loved both experiences.

Surroundings and walks

The hotel offers a transfer to a nearby mall and seriously, even I, who am not a fan of malls, enjoyed it! The malls in Thailand are sensational, very well built and grandiose.
After a full day of sightseeing, we took the subway back and got off at the mall where the cutest car came to pick us up!
Hard not to recognize, lol

You'll also find good restaurants near the hotel, and it was there that I had one of the best "Japanese" meals of my life! But again, be careful with the time, if you go out after 10pm you'll hardly find anything open.

Things close very early in that area, but don't worry! There's a 7 Eleven nearby for any emergencies.
We had a night of treats in our room, with lots of family mess, hihih I love hotels with structure!
No wonder I chose 137 Pillars for our accommodation with children in Bangkok!

We can only thank 137 Pillars Suites & Residence for partnering with us and providing us with such happy moments!!!
Like the hotel? Book it here.

Are you curious to know what it's like to get around Bangkok? I've given you a sneak preview, but we'll have a whole post about our experiences soon!
We rode everything, tuk tuk, metro, cab and uber.
There will also be a selection of all the tours we did, and what do you want to see in Bangkok? We went to a market where the train passes right through the goods!
